The knee is the largest synovial joint in the human body with a criss-crossing lattice of ligaments that help keep the joint stable. As a critical weight bearing joint, the knee often needs addtional support. This helps relieve pain, increase stability and function, or protect the joint after surgery or trauma during the healing process. Knee orthoses run a wide range of support options: from a neoprene sleeve to help stabilize the patella, to a ROM brace for limiting motion during recovery.
OrthoRehab carries an extensive range of braces and orthotics for the knee from a wide range of national manufacturers. For more information on our knee braces, or for information on a custom knee brace fabrication, please contact your local representative. | Functional Ligament Bracing | |

Functional braces provide a high level of joint stabilization in preparation for return to activities beyond those of daily living. Usually following damage or repair to the ACL, PCL, MCL or LCL. Patients are normally fitted for functional braces during the mid to later stages of rehabilitation. A number of clinical studies are available on the efficacy of functional bracing and can be found in our clinical resources section. OrthoRehab offers both custom fabricated and pre-sized OTS functional braces from a variety of manufacturers. Simple girth measurements are used to fit pre-sized braces, while specific measuring systems or cast molds are required for custom products. |

| OA Braces | ||||||||||||||||||

OA braces are a type
of functional brace designed to stabilize a knee with unicompartmental
osteoarthritis (UOA) - arthritis in only one side of the knee joint. UOA is
most commonly seen in the medial aspect of the knee joint and can cause the
knee to gradually develop a varus (“bowlegged”) curvature, as the joint
collapses down onto itself. OA braces apply
three points of medial and lateral leverage to decompress the affected
compartment.

| Fracture Braces | |
![]() |
Fracture bracing is used with patients after the initial pain and swelling have subsided. These braces allow for movement of the muscles surrounding the fracture site and assist early and proper healing. Durable, very lightweight and adjustable, these braces are ideal for maintaining good hygiene as they can be removed and re-applied easily. |
